Snapshot of Slovenia: Visit the Adriatic Coast
Visit Slovenia, just next door to Croatia, for beautiful mountains, family fun and intriguing history.
For all the stunning coastlines and beaches of neighboring Croatia, it might seem counter-intuitive that just one border away, Slovenia would be full of scenery fit to host Hansel & Gretel; but with its pine-filled mountains and German architecture, this East-meets-West country is full of hidden beauty – including a mountain lake that might make George Clooney want to rethink his spot on Como.
On our Boutique Slovenia journey, led by an experienced tour director, we’ll take you to the shores of Lake Bled, where you can ride to its quaint St. Mary’s Island and explore its castle. From here, you’ll spot private mansions on the lake shores and an estate fit for The Sound of Music once owned by Josip Broz Tito. (The estate is now a hotel.)
We’ll also take you through the Julian Alps, to the Postojna Caves, and to the bottom of the Soča Valley. Led by your director and local guides, you’ll gain an understanding of Slovene history and culture, while seeing the surprisingly varied terrain of this small country. With so much to see and do for the whole family — from alpine slides to cable car rides, you may return to Slovenia again and again.
