What to See:
Cathedral of St. James
Commonly regarded as the most important Renaissance-era structure in Croatia, the Cathedral of St. James is an impressive collaboration between Italian and Croatian masters, completed in 1536 after than a century of construction. Although kids might not immediately grasp the cultural significance of this UNESCO World Heritage List site, they are sure to appreciate the intricate details of historical and religious figures, telling the story of Šibenik’s past in limestone.
Krka National Park
Located just north of Šibenik, Krka National Park is a haven filled with green pools, natural waterfalls and many endangered plant and animal species found nowhere else in the world. Krka National Park is a great place to take the kids to cool off in the summer. The lower levels are open to swimming, so don’t forget your bathing suits!

Krka River Cruise
In addition to the stunning scenery of Krka National Park, the Krka river canyon offers its own treasures, with places to hike, swim, explore and simply lounge. Kids will love looking for ancient artifacts that dot the shores.
Šibenik may not be Croatia’s largest city, but it holds seemingly endless adventure. Rent bikes for the whole family, sail past Krka and other natural parks, or explore Dalmatia on horseback. The International Children’s Festival
The International Children’s Festival, held at the end of June and into the beginning of July, features events and classes in art, music and theater just for kids. Ask us for activity recommendations and how to participate.
Šibenik Cruiser Regatta
You’ll have to wait until the end of November for this Šibenik tradition, but the festive atmosphere is worth it. Going into its 14th year, the Šibenik Cruiser Regatta brings more than 40 crews and 400 sailors to this coastal town. Spectators can watch from the waterfront or even from one of Šibenik’s many fortresses.
