What an amazing experience

Wow! We had an amazing time in Slovenia & Croatia. Everything went smoothly and we really enjoyed every minute of our vacation. Hotels were exactly what we like, guides and drivers were so friendly, personable and knowledgeable. Our guide in Ljubljana and Lake Bled was like a family to us. We never knew Croatia's wine was so good. Thank you for all of the wine tastings near Split in Hvar and Peljesac. We had an opportunity to meet with a wine maker that you arranged for us. I am attaching a few photos that I know use as my bragging rights with friends:) Thank you, Tom and everyone at Adriatic Luxury Journeys for taking such a great care of us and for offering us the best rate, too! We have already recommended you to many of our friends. Cheers, Irwin B.

You have exceeded our expectations

We absolutely loved our private tour of Croatia and Montenegro! You have exceeded our expectations every step of the way! From luxury accommodations and rooms with best views, awesome drivers and guides, choice of local restaurants and menus…I simply don’t know where to stop. We learned so much about life and people there and we will cherish this wonderful experience for a very, very long time. We were sooo happy with your excellent itinerary design and coordination. Not having to spend long time in the mini bus each day was exactly what we needed, and your team delivered it all to the perfection! Thank you so much for planning such a thoughtful trip and for taking care of every single details for all six of us! Amanda, Thomas, Kathy, Dan, Jan & Todd

Arrive Zagreb

After arriving at Zagreb Airport, transfer to your hotel. You will meet your tour director during a lovely welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Return to your hotel for overnight. Overnight in Zagreb, (D)

This morning, Zagreb will charm you with its abundance of rich cultural heritage that dates back to the medieval days. We will stroll past baroque-style mansions and baronial residences, and admire the beautifully crafted facades. In the company of your local expert, we will visit the symbol of Zagreb, St. Mark’s church in the Upper Town, which houses the remarkable works of Ivan Meštrović, its most famous sculptor. Come to the Lotrščak Tower and inhale this most beautiful view of the city. The attractions here are plentiful, the culture, quite mesmerizing. There will be enough time for a delicious fresh baked pastry and a cup of excellent coffee in one of the side walk cafes in Gornji Grad. Or dine on some great home-made cheese and wine as you chat with friendly locals at Dolac, the lively open air market. Overnight in Zagreb, (B)

A very special experience awaits you in Gorski Kotar and Lika. Lovely green landscapes of exceptional ecological value reside in a number of nature parks, which rise a mere dozen feet above the sea. Discover Plitvice Lakes National Park – the unique oasis of rare natural beauty. It is one of Europe’s most dazzling nature reserve parks, and was truly created by nature. The park consists of 16 connecting lakes and sport unique cascades of murmuring waterfalls. Plitvice Lakes National Park was recognized and protected by UNESCO as part of the world’s natural heritage in 1979. We will take a lively walk along the lakes and breathe the fresh mountain air while listening to the captivating sounds of nature. Next, a boat ride across the largest of the lakes, we will experience an unique perspective of nature: the lake is rife with crystal clear emerald water and fringed with bubbly white waterfalls! (self-guided) Overnight in Split, (B & L)

Experience the charm of the southern Mediterranean as we explore Split, the largest city along the Adriatic coast. Its beauty captivated IV Century Roman Emperor Diocletian, who built his palace here. So we begin our sightseeing tour of Split with a visit to this lofty palace. First, we walk the well-preserved ancient cellars; for here is where one can truly experience this magnificent palace. The Cathedral was built on the remains of an ancient shrine. And across the Cathedral is the Temple of Jupiter, which today is used as a baptistery. Afterwards we’ll visit Trogir, where you can explore on your own. Overnight in Split, (B)

This morning we will ferry over to the island of Hvar. After a short scenic drive we arrive to Hvar, that has one of the first communal theaters in Europe, built in 1612, called the Arsenal. There is also the famous “Tvrdalj” Palace of Petar Hektorović, not to be missed. Spend the rest of the day exploring this charming town on your own, enjoying the magical views of the neighboring islands and visiting some of the best local souvenir shops and restaurants. Overnight in Hvar, (B)

Visit the natural phenomena, Blue Cave on Biševo Island, best known natural beauty spot on the Adriatic. You will have enough free time for lunch and to relax on the beach. Afterwards we set our boat ride around the southern side of the island and stop briefly in the unique bay of Stiniva. Take a swim in this crystal clear water and relax on its famous beach. Afterwards we reach the Green Cave, spacious and marvelous cave where you can take beautiful pictures and take a swim. Overnight in Hvar, (B & L )

Ferry transfer to Dubrovnik. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Dubrovnik, (B )

Drenched in sparkling sunshine and rife with mild Mediterranean breezes, Dubrovnik is a lush region of mysterious coves, forested islands and idyllic beaches. With it’s sharp detailing and unique architecture, its many quaint buildings showcase an artistic heritage depicting a vast landscape of lovely sea, sky and hills. In Dubrovnik you will visit the extraordinarily beautiful cloister at the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of the oldest pharmacies in the world, having remained open since the time of 1317.
